COVID crisis as a gift of time

covid

Hi all!

The Covid-19 pandemic has triggered the most severe recession in nearly a century and is causing enormous damage to people’s health, jobs and well-being, according to the OECD’s latest Economic Outlook

Many got temporary laid-off or lost their jobs. And the full economic impact of Covid outbreak is yet to come. Not the best situation, right?

But let’s look on it from another perspective. When you at your daily work you have only limited time to develop yourself and struggling to do many things you wanted to do, but never had time.

That is why I look at this situation as on “the gift of time” and trying to use it at its fullest.

So far, during the lockdown I did achieved the following:

  • Learned basics of Java programming (beginner and advanced course)
  • Programmed my first project on Java which now helps me to facilitate innovation brainstormings
  • Made my own website (the one you are reading now)
  • Completed a great innovation course at Linkedin
  • Completed a course at BI Norwegian Business School “Sustainability as a business model and competitiveness”
  • Completed Telenor Academy course on Agile Project management
  • Started to get into Python programming

Winston Churchill once said: “Never let a good crisis go to waste.”

What did you with the Covid gift of time?
